In 1955, in the center of Glyfada, a small suburb at the time, a young man of Asia Minor origin, Plastiras Vamvakeros, decided to follow his dream and open the first men's hair salon. The whole of Glyfada then embraces this effort and the "barbershop" of Plastiras becomes a point of reference for Glyfada’s residents as well as vacationers. This small shop on Metaxa Street is frequented by all the young people of the area, who, apart from a "modern" haircut (Plastiras had studied the art of men's hairdressing after all), find friends and acquaintances there and acquire their hangout.
Many prominent and famous people of the time, shipowners, artists, entrepreneurs, and even some "blue-blooded" passed through this shop, since Plastiras even took care the headdress of Rainier of Monaco.
In the 1980s, the salon moved to a larger space, the current store at 25 Dimarchou Angelou Metaxa Street, and opened a women's section. The success of the business continues even when the scepters are passed to the next generation, Yiouli and Xenofontas Vambakeros, who with specialized studies, continuous training in technical and fashion matters shape the most famous hair salon of the Athenian Riviera.

Our first store, with a men's only section: Men's headdress Plastiras. Our founder, Plastiras Vamvakeros, welcomes and treats the male audience of the area as well as well-known names from all over the world.

Addition of women's room & move to 25 Angelou Metaxa street.
At the beginning of the 80's, our hair salon is expanding and a women's section is added to it. Also, we are moving to number 25 Angelou Metaxa.

Renovation of the hair salon
We are carrying out a total facelift in our corporate image, undertaking a major renovation of the men's as well as the women's section of the salon.

Total renewal, modernization to "Plastiras Haircode"
It changes the name of our salon and becomes from "Plastiras Hairdressing", "Plastiras Haircode", adopting the Latin version of our name for its wider understanding. By choosing/adding the word "haircode" to our distinctive title, we send the message to the public that our salon is a necessary beauty stop in the southern suburbs for everyone: men and women who desire and seek the latest fashion, the best techniques in cutting and styling as well as the use of the best hairstyling and care products for the hair and its ends.
2005 - Integral facelift and modernisation to "Plastiras Haircode"

Rebranding, renaming, renovation of facade and men's: main area and creation of VIP area to provide luxury barber and beauty services for men. The whole space and the brand take on a more luxurious and "universally" more complete look. Art Deco elements are added to the interiors, colors are darkened and wood is established mainly in the men's section. We manage the harmonious coexistence of the most classic luxury elements with a light atmosphere that inspires relaxation.

Renovation of the women's department in times of pandemic
In the midst of the pandemic and the quarantine, despite the difficulties, the 1st floor of the women's section is being renovated. Its already modern style is maintained -with the addition of more neutral colors- and the emphasis is placed on the functionality of the space (the space dedicated to the body extremities care: manicure and pedicure care obtain an equal importance with the areas allocated to hairdressing and hair coloring) giving the possibility to modern women with intense and demanding rhythms, to find their happiness and peace, easily enjoying the whole range of our services on the 1st floor.
